Vixen Lacquer Swatches and Review

Greetings and Nailutations,

Today I have a baby indie.  What is a baby indie?  A baby indie is an indie that isn't even technically open, but in it's initial stages.  I love working with baby and toddler indies.  You can see the passion in their polishes and the love of creativity in their work.  Today's indie brand is called Vixen Lacquers.  Please follow the owner, Liz, on instagram @vixenlacquers for release date information.

Let's get to some swatches.

First up is Fabulous - which obviously is fabulous.  It is a white glitter crelly containing light pink holo hexes and squares.  There is also an addition of rainbow dust in the white crelly so it picked up the light and sparkled as well.  Formula was great on this polish and made application a breeze.  Photos show 2 coats with shiny topcoat.

Next is Reckless, a magenta jelly holo.  This polish is so vibrant and amazing.  Jellies are lovely, holos are awesome and when you combine the two - magic happens.  Photos shows 2 coats with shiny topcoat.

Then we have Royalty - WOW.  Royalty is a deep purple jelly with gold micro shimmer, silver and purple micro bars, purple hexes and rose gold hexes.  This polish has so much complexity and depth.  Every time I looked closely at my nails I found something new to admire.  Photos show 2 coats with either a shiny topcoat or matte topcoat.

The next 4 are spring polishes.

April Showers is a lovely blue jelly with light blue and light grey hexes.  This polish is reminiscent of a fresh April rain.  Being in Arizona...the desert...I miss this April rains, so this polish was comforting.  Photos show 2 coats with a shiny topcoat and a matte topcoat.

After the shower, of course we must also have May Flowers.  May Flowers is a pink jelly with light green hexes, light pink circles and white squares.  Photos show 2 coats with shiny topcoat and also a matte topcoat.

Next is Green Grass And Sunshine.  Green Grass And Sunshine is a green jelly with gold circles and light green hexes.  This was the only polish I had issues with applying.  It was the last of a batch and the lid may not have been as tight as the others.  The polish was very thick/gooey and it took 3 coats to get it opaque.  Liz, has spoken to others who got this polish and they didn't report any problems.  I absolutely loved the color and all the other polishes had perfect formula, so if you also love green, I recommend this jelly.

Lastly is You Shattered My Easter Egg, which is a glitter topper in a clear base.  It contains light green and light pink shards.  I have it shown below over a navy blue to make the glitter topper pop!  Photos shows 1 generous coat dabbed on with a shiny topcoat.

Loves:  JELLIES!!  Who doesn't love jellies?  They are so versatile in that you can wear them shiny and the next day change the complete look by mattifying the polish.  The crelly is amazing and the formula was perfect and smooth.  No glitter fishing was necessary.  Another added plus is that Vixen Lacquers is 5-free, so it does not contain 5 of the nasties that can normally be found in polish.

Wishes:  Aside from the 1 polish that I had issues with, the only other thing I wish is to add more glitters to April Showers, May Flowers and Green Grass And Sunshine.

I am excited to see the direction and journey Vixen Lacquers will take.  I love indies that can successfully do it all (crellies, jellies, glitter toppers) and Liz is making a statement with "I CAN DO IT ALL".  Make sure you head over to Vixen Lacquers (@vixenlacquers on instagram) to check out her polishes.

Which is your favorite?

Happy Polishing,
Kristi aka @beginnails
